Quality for 7 generations
The Monteverdi family has gravitated around the world of wine for over two hundred years, since Angelo Maria Monteverdi opened a small cellar in 1796 in the town of Casalpusterlengo.
Legend has it that Napoleon Bonaparte, who stopped with his troops in the Lampugnani fiefdom, today Casalpusterlengo, asked his guests, for himself and his officers, for good food and wine. The latter was of such goodness that Napoleon not only liked, but drank plenty of it. It was May 10, 1796.
From generation to generation we arrive at 1920 where, with Francesco Monteverdi, the first modern winery is founded. But it is with Antonio Monteverdi that the fame of the family business develops and consolidates with the production of quality wines.
With this vision today, the Monteverdi family, now in its seventh generation, continues the tradition by looking serenely at the future that father Antonio with so much passion and tenacity, with intuition and foresight has designed for future generations.
